‘Our order books are full and we’ve recently taken on two new engineers and support staff to cope with the additional workload. We’ve also moved to larger and better-equipped office space to meet our growing needs,’ says Simon.
‘No other automotive component manufacturer of equivalent size has more professional engineers on staff than we do, and this gives us a unique position in the market. The majority of the components we manufacture are safety-critical items and have to be manufactured to the most stringent international quality benchmarks – there’s no room for error. With most of our components delivered approaching zero parts per million defect rates, our customers are secure in our technical expertise.’
Precision Press was recently awarded manufacturing contracts from a new Tier One customer, a supplier to both the local and international automotive sectors.
‘While we work with steel, sophisticated progression tools and huge presses to make the most detailed and intricate components, our most valuable input is our people – and that goes from shopfloor to the design and quality-control laboratory to our delivery drivers. Bolstering our capabilities on the engineering front sets the scene for even greater opportunities in the future,’ he says.
